Ghana Immigration Service intercepts 900 slabs of Indian hemp in Volta Region

The Ghana Immigration Service has intercepted a whopping 900 slabs of Indian hemp in the Volta Region, in what is being hailed as a major breakthrough in the war against illegal drug trafficking in the country.

According to a statement from the Service, the drugs were intercepted during a routine inspection of a vehicle that was traveling through the area. Upon searching the vehicle, the officers discovered the 900 slabs of Indian hemp concealed inside.

"This is a significant victory in our fight against drug trafficking," said the Director of the Ghana Immigration Service. "We will not rest until we rid our country of these dangerous and illegal drugs."

The seizure of the drugs comes as a major relief to the people of the Volta Region, who have been grappling with the menace of drug trafficking for several years now. Many young people in the area have been lured into the trade by the promise of easy money, and the proliferation of drugs has led to an increase in crime and other social ills.

But with this latest success, the Ghana Immigration Service is sending a strong message to those who would seek to traffic drugs through the country: their efforts will not be tolerated, and they will be met with the full force of the law.

"We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities," added the Director. "Together, we can ensure that Ghana remains a safe and peaceful place for all."
